When you’re tired and under pressure, mindfulness is the last thing on your mind. This is when policies come to the rescue. They protect you from those moments you want to revert to your toddler days. A temper tantrum is not a good look on anyone.
Policies help you to control yourself, so you don’t damage the reputation of your business (which took an insane amount of time and energy to establish) with one greedy, opportunistic or negligent move. They keep you accountable to your values and strategies. After all, you’re only human and a clouded judgement is common.
One of my policies is to always write my blogs in advance. This gives me time to process my emotions. I can then provide an opinion in the best interest of my clients and audience. When I communicate with my audience, it must always be in line with my vision: “to help entrepreneurs and creatives overcome their challenges and thrive in the bigger ecosystem”.
Policies bring clarity and serve as an excellent communication tool when different stakeholders are involved. Policies create trust and ensure that everyone is on the same page.
